BWareLab is the consulting studio of Marcello Bruno, a Senior Software Architect with over 20 years of experience on mission-critical platforms for banks, insurers, public administrations and industry.
About
I am a Senior Software Architect and Lead Full-Stack Engineer. Since 2000 I have been designing and building distributed, resilient, mission-critical platforms for major banking, insurance, institutional and industrial groups.
On top of a solid engineering background – a Master's degree in Computer Engineering (110/110 cum laude) and four years of university research on Web Services and testing – I keep my skills constantly up to date: from the Microsoft .NET enterprise ecosystem to a specialization in generative AI, multi-agent systems, micro-frontends and cloud-ready containerized architectures.
With BWareLab, active since 2018, I support companies and software houses as an architect, consultant and developer: from the first analysis to release and ongoing evolution of the product, including taking over existing systems.
Services
From architecture consulting to full development, with a single accountable technical contact.
Business applications, web apps and backend services in C# / .NET, Java, Python, C/C++ and TypeScript, designed around the real processes of your organization.
Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, microservices, API gateways and throttling, reviews of existing code and architectures.
Taking over existing applications, even poorly documented ones, built with .NET Framework, Java, ASP.NET and WCF: fixes, security updates, documentation and gradual modernization without stopping operations.
LLM integration (OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude), multi-agent systems, conversational assistants, context management and evaluation pipelines.
Process mapping, removal of repetitive manual work, digital workflows, system integration and automated reporting, also with the support of AI.
Portals, CMSs and single page applications with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS; modular micro-frontends for large platforms.
Data modeling, advanced T-SQL, tuning and optimization on SQL Server, Oracle and IBM DB2; full-text search with Elasticsearch; data analysis with Python and R.
Containerization with Docker and Docker Compose, CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, Linux and Windows Server environments, Azure.
Customization and extension of open source platforms such as Odoo, EspoCRM and Moodle, and integration with existing systems.
Method
I listen to goals and constraints, study your processes and existing software, and define priorities and risks.
I propose a solution that stays sustainable over time: technologies, integrations, security and costs.
Frequent, verifiable releases, versioned code, automated tests and CI/CD pipelines.
Go-live, documentation, support and evolutionary maintenance.
Skills

2008 – 2010
Management systems for local public administrations and insurance back-office systems on .NET and IBM DB2; research collaboration on Information Retrieval and the Semantic Web at the University of Sannio.
2004 – 2008
Methods for QoS-based discovery and semantic classification of Web Services, regression testing and QoS testing for SOA architectures.
2000 – 2005
Analysis, design and development of web applications for the insurance and banking markets.

FAQ
BWareLab designs and builds custom software for companies and public administrations: enterprise .NET applications, web platforms with React and Next.js, Artificial Intelligence solutions based on LLMs and autonomous agents, business process analysis and automation, legacy system maintenance and evolution, databases and DevOps pipelines.
Yes. BWareLab is based in Atripalda (AV), Italy, and works with clients across Italy and abroad, mostly remotely. Work can be carried out in Italian or English.
Yes. I integrate language models such as OpenAI GPT and Anthropic Claude into existing applications through dedicated API gateways, context management and evaluation pipelines, or build multi-agent systems to automate processes.
Yes. I take over existing applications, including old or poorly documented ones, built with .NET Framework, Java, ASP.NET, WCF and SQL Server, Oracle or DB2 databases: fixes, security updates, documentation and gradual modernization, without interrupting operations.
