Privacy notice

Under Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). In short: this website uses no cookies and no tracking tools, and personal data is processed only if you choose to write to me by email.

This is a translation of the Italian privacy notice; in case of discrepancy the Italian version prevails.

1. Data controller

BWare Lab di Bruno Marcello
VAT number IT02969260641
Atripalda (AV), Italy
Email: bware.lab@gmail.com

For any question about this notice or your data, write to the email address above.

2. The website at a glance

  • It is a static presentation website: there are no reserved areas, registrations or accounts.
  • It uses no cookies, neither technical nor profiling ones, and stores no information in your browser.
  • It uses no analytics or tracking tools (statistics, pixels, heatmaps) and no advertising.
  • It embeds no third-party content (external fonts, maps, videos, social buttons) that could collect data while you browse.
  • The form in the Contact section sends no data to the website: it opens your email client with a pre-filled message, which you decide whether to send.

3. What data is processed

Browsing data

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.). As with any website, Cloudflare's servers automatically record in their logs some technical data needed to serve the pages: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser and operating system type, server response code. This data is used only to deliver the pages and keep the website secure (for example to detect abuse or attacks) and not to identify or profile visitors. The website sets no cookies.

Data you send by email

If you write to the email address above or use the Contact form, I will process your email address, your name and any other data you choose to include in the message. Please do not include unnecessary data and, in particular, special categories of data (for example health data).

Emails sent to addresses on the bwarelab.it domain (for example info@bwarelab.it) pass through Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards them to the controller's Gmail mailbox without storing their content; messages are then received and stored in Gmail.

4. Purposes and legal bases

PurposeLegal basis (GDPR)
Replying to your requests and handling contacts that precede an engagement (quotes, information)Steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract – Art. 6(1)(b); for general requests, legitimate interest in replying – Art. 6(1)(f)
Ensuring the website works properly and securelyLegitimate interest of the controller – Art. 6(1)(f)
Complying with legal obligations (for example tax obligations), if a professional relationship is establishedLegal obligation – Art. 6(1)(c)

Providing data by email is optional; without it, however, I cannot reply to your request. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.

5. Recipients

Data is neither disclosed publicly nor sold. It may be processed, solely for the purposes above, by:

  • the email service provider (Google, Gmail service), which hosts the mailbox bware.lab@gmail.com;
  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), acting as processor under its Data Processing Addendum (DPA), as provider of the hosting (Cloudflare Pages, for browsing data) and of the domain's email forwarding (Cloudflare Email Routing);
  • the controller's advisors (for example the accountant), only if a professional relationship is established;
  • public authorities, where required by law.

6. Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare, Inc. and Google are based in the United States: website hosting, email forwarding and the Gmail service may therefore involve processing data in non-EU countries. In such cases the transfer relies on the safeguards provided by the GDPR, such as European Commission adequacy decisions (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or the standard contractual clauses adopted by the Commission. Cloudflare participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and includes the standard contractual clauses in its DPA.

7. Retention period

  • Emails and contact requests: for as long as needed to handle the request and, if no professional relationship follows, no longer than 24 months from the last contact.
  • Data related to an engagement: for the duration of the relationship and afterwards for the period required by law (for example 10 years for accounting and tax records under Italian law).
  • Technical logs: for the limited period set by Cloudflare for security and service delivery purposes.

8. Your rights

At any time you can exercise the rights provided by Articles 15–22 GDPR: access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to bware.lab@gmail.com: you will receive a reply within one month, as required by Article 12 GDPR.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work.

9. Links to other websites

The website contains links to external sites, such as the LinkedIn profile. When you follow these links you leave the BWareLab website: data processing is governed by the privacy notices of the respective operators.

10. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated, for example if the website should introduce analytics tools or contact forms that send data in the future. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
